Izvor: AccuWeather"The highest temperature ever recorded by the Japan Meteorological Agency was reported on Monday when Kumagaya reached 41.1 C (106 F).
Monday’s record narrowly clipped the previous all-time record high of 41.0 C (105.8 F) which was set in Ekawasaki in August 2013.
The Greater Tokyo Area also set an all-time high temperature on Monday as the mercury climbed to 40.8 C (105.4 F).
The recent heat wave, which has been ongoing for more than a week, has officially claimed the lives of more than 40 people while tens of thousands of people have been hospitalized for heat-related illnesses, according to the Japan Times.
Warm nights will only make the long-duration heat wave more dangerous, especially for the elderly and children." -
